Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) Rugby in association with Tennessee High School Rugby (THSR) and USA Rugby is proud to announce a series of camps and coaching sessions to be held in conjunction with the South High School Championships. Leading these sessions is RFU coaching consultant Lynn Evans who will share his widely recognized philosophies of teaching skill development through a games approach to augment awareness and decision making.

Evans is slated to present at the National Teaching Games for Understanding conference held in Vancouver, BC immediately following his month-long tour in the USA. Evans formerly played rugby with RAF & Combined Services, was a Physical Education teacher and coached Oxford University during their famous win against Australia. Evans also worked for the RFU as a Development Officer and Coaching Development Adviser, and is a Trainer & Coach Educator.

MIDDLE SCHOOL & YOUTH CAMP, Thursday, May 1st
Tower Park, Brentwood, TN 4:00 – 6:00 PM
This camp is open to anyone interested in coaching and developing both tackle and non contact rugby. Players will learn tackle and contact techniques, various games to develop skills and ways to improve skills while having fun. There are no costs to participate in this event.

HIGH SCHOOL COACHES & PLAYER CAMP, Friday, May 2nd
MTSU Rugby Fields, Murfreesboro, TN 5:00 – 7:30 PM
This camp is officially recognized as part of the USA Rugby continuing education series for Coaches. Coaches shall pay $30 each and players are free. All local teams and all teams attending the South Championships are encouraged to attend. Sign-ups shall begin on the day at 4:30 so arrive early take advantage of this unique opportunity to experience hands on coaching with Lynn Evans.

SOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP DINNER, Saturday, May 3rd
Middle Tennessee Christian School, Murfreesboro, TN 7:00 PM
100 E MTCS Road; Mboro, TN 37129
Lynn Evans will be the keynote speaker for this event. Pasta, salad, and a dessert is included. All teams and players are encouraged to attend. Seating is limited -- advanced tickets sales will be $13 per person and $15 at the door if space remains.
