Welcome to Tennessee High School Rugby! High school rugby
is one of the fastest growing sports because this high-speed contact sport
challenges all aspects of athletic ability. Players utilize a number of
skills to pass, run, kick, tackle and score. Players are required to think
on their feet and demonstrate decision-making skills under pressure. Most
of all RUGBY is a team sport like no other that will develop camaraderie
among teammates and respect for the opposition at parent sponsored post
game socials. Rugby is a participation sport that keeps enthusiast involved
for years to come. Let's face it less than 10% of high school varsity
athletes go on to play in varsity collegiate sports and the odds for professional
status is less than 1%. Almost every major university has a rugby club
and every city has a men's club, so participates may continue to be involved

The Tennessee High School Rugby League was founded in 2001
and is organized under the authority of USA Rugby and is operated exclusively
to promote and foster the growth of high school rugby football and to
educate the public and players in the game of rugby as played under the
laws of the International Rugby Board. The League is composed of high
school rugby clubs within Tennessee. The League Commissioner and an Administrative
Officer are volunteers elected by team delegates following the bylaws
of the league.
