Feb. 5 & 6, This weekend, the three rugby conferences from Tennessee
met for a Coaches
Convention in Nashville, TN. There was a good turnout with over 35 attendees
and the two day session was very informative for all. Mark Williams, the
Conference Director, managed the two day seminar which dealt with many
topics, such as: the Many Roles of a Coach, Safety, Principles of Play,
Nutrition and Fitness, and Managing Parenting Involvement. Marty Bradley,
the SMAC Conference Director, gave an insightful presentation on School
Based Programs and Jerry Mclemore added his valuable experience with a
Referee Development segment. This was a good springboard for the 2006
Season and looks to be a positive attribute to the strength of the THSR
organization.
